Montage Activity 2

This picture is a great photomontage for this era. I say this because everyone is all about how people are so separated and when something happens they shut down and use some sort of social media to express how they are feeling.

This picture of Elvis Presley have been made into a photomontage because he is holding a phone with headphones when they didn't have that back then.

Montage Activity 1

I think that the painters back then always had something to say to the people who were doing this type of art because its different and people enjoyed this more. Now that photo manipulation is possible we can show much more as a photographer in one photo rather then multiple photos. Also photo manipulation take simplicity out of the picture and makes it look more complex and have a deeper meaning because there are now multiple pictures. I think that this can be more of a revival because now that we have all this technology to make it look even better then what it used to be therefore being able to compare it to the past makes it the revival.

Self Image Activity 2

Find images in the media, which have been used to represent attractive and unattractive aspects of the human face. Examine and record carefully the photographic techniques used to accentuate both these qualities, drawing up a list that relates to the images you have found. List the physical characteristics that we have come to admire in both the male and female face and write 100 words in response to the following questions:
Do you believe that media images or public opinion are responsible for the characteristics of beauty becoming universal stereotypes?
Do you believe people admiring media images of glamorous models can do any harm?

I believe that they media images are responsible because they are the ones who can manipulate a photo and make it seem as if they were ugly.
I personally think they do have an effect on society because everyone looks to them and say they are what we call beautiful and people will do whatever it takes to look like them and when ever they do so will regular people. For example if a model was throwing up to stay skinny people might do the same thing hoping that they will look like them.
